LISTENING to loud music in the car can give you a COLLAPSED LUNG, doctors have warned.
They issued an alert in medical magazine Thorax after an increasing number of cases at casualty units.

One 19-year-old lad was treated at Southmead Hospital in Bristol after he felt his lung collapse as his 1,000-watt base box boomed out in his Fiat Panda.

The hospital’s Dr John Harvey said district casualty units were seeing about 50 cases a year.

He added: “We can’t say how common loud music is as a cause, but it is probably significant.”
