My engine light keeps coming on all the time when i'm drivin and when i push my clutch in to stop at lights the reves go up to 2500 then down to just under 1000. i also put a 10ers fuel in yesterday and its took the lot n i've bin nowere. Does any1 no whats wrong?

sounds like the I.A.C valve, but get vauxhalls to do a tech test to find out exactly what it is

aye sounds like the ICV, idle control valve. Is it a 1.2 16v or 1.0 12v corsa b?
New one is about £50

Is it worth giving the old one a clean and trying that first? Or is it a safer bet to buy a new one?

old one can be cleaned, but they're usually under the inlet manifold and a pain to get to.
read the self diagnosis guide in FAQ's to save your self £40 on a diagnostic test.
see if you get a icv code first.

bin 2 vauxhall and they cant diagnostic test my car because the cd player i have effects there machine. they said i have to get a standard vauxhall 1 fitted. could be that ICV u r talking about coz theres a noise coming from under the inlet manafold. how do i get to it to clean it???

if it is under the inlet on your car, you either need to take the manifold off and go down from above, or jack the car up on axle stands and try and get to it from underneath.
