was racing yesterday and went round quite a sharpish corner at about 45ish. I then straightened up and was going down the hill when i noticed i was billowing blue smoke outta the back. After about a mile tho is seemed to clear, dipping clutch and revving it every now and then seemed to do the trick. my theory is some oil found its way into the cylinders and was burnt. Am i correct or have i fucked my engine? Its a 98 1.4 16v with 75,000 btw

pretty sure it is something to do with oil. dont have much knowledge about under the bonnet. but a mate of mine had an old fiesta and his chucked a lot of purple crap out at gear change sometimes. think it was something to do with oil.
sure someone will be able to tell u exactly what it is.

don't c20xe's have a problem with oil like this? Something about the oil in the head bein thrown to one side and buildin up durin fast cornering... Can't remember the exact details, just that you need a special plate in the engine to stop it...

There aren't any fins in the sump to prevent the oil going to one side of the engine when you corner... The way to sort the problem is to drive sensibly, fit a breather filter or have somone weld in some fins into the sump

oil surge.....
Oil splooshes round inside the sump.... gets sucked up a breather pipe and into the throttle body. Oil is then burnt with the air and petrol.....
Your plugs will prob be a bit fucked up now, and you may want to spray some carb cleaner down the TB....
To fix it:
Either get some fins welded into the sump to prevent surge (hard as its alu)
or fit a catch tank, and vent the fumes to atmosphere
like so....
(same principle applies to all engines, not just the c20xe)
