Do these plug into one of the pre outs or another port Can't be arsed pulling out the stereo to have a look

Can't be arsed answering.

Pre out is audio, you'll also need some sort of control. If you do have photo jacks there will be a separate wire (Sony do this) , or it may be all in one.

IF the Saxo has the standard headunit, check Halfords for an adapter to connect a Sony Changer, that's what my Mum did for her Megane, works a treat.

pull the unit out mate, its the easiest of options or if its a standard unit, do a google on it and see what it says.

Usually, if its a standard unit, then there will be some phono in's and a remote lead connection (like 3 pin jobby...obviously differs to different Head Units).
If its an aftermarket unit, it can be anything from its own connection block, to seperate phono in's/ remote lead etc etc
