the dash

erm that dash well

i erm acidentally pulled it out

now wee need a home for the fuse box and switches etc

rain stopped play but ah well tomorow is another day

acidentally with the aid of a hacksaw

wiring got in the way in 1 place so instaed of chopping the wiring the dash got it instead

need to gut the heater matrix out next and remove unessary wiring like stereo loom

1.1 hcs yes

roll cage is yet to go in

btw 1.1 is just untill he can afford insurance on a bigger engine then a larger one will be dropped in

oh right, looks like u both got a lot done, well done!

ahh the old hcs engines, i had a 1.4 with, believe it or not, a fairly quiet cvh engine many moons ago

the 1.4 is a cvh. the hcs engines are the only ones with rattly tappets. mines a 1.1 L

the heater motor and box etc have now gone

and i unwrapped the loom and removed interior circuit stereo loom and heater loom

next up the heater matrix is goin when we find a suitible pipe to join the two pipe together and we need a plte to cover the hole up where the heater motor was

oh and need some tape to wrap the loom up again as it everywhere atm

adam any chance you cna get some detailed pics of how your bypassing the heater matrix, also what is marc gonna do when glass steams up etc

to bypass the heater matric you pull the two pips off it then simply join them togther
im gonna look at mondeo coolent pipes next and simply get a shorter one and link it str8 up.

as for the de-mist you can get little ceramic electric heaters mount that up and aim it at the window.

also found out that the xr2i came with a heated window so if we fit one of them then a heater wont be needed

ive also found an xr2 engine. 1.6 8v carb 90bhp group 9 insurance for £100 just need xr2i manifold, top mount and downpipe and 1.6s wiring loom

ill try and get some tomrow
ps when the heater motor etc is removed it leaves a big hole between the engine bay and the interior
am gonna make up a plate with a rubber seal to fill it

im gonna use the original mounting bolts as there captive to the shell then use the original seal and a metal plate made by me just need some sheet metal now.
