Out of interest, which gearbox would provide best acceleration?
Just thinking that because the F28 has 6 gears, the lower gears may have a shorter ratio?
Any ideas?

Depends how you measure it.
A shorter 6 speed will make better use of a narrow powerband, but you want to stay in second not introduce another change if you want a good 0-60.

If I could have kept the Nova in 3rd for an extra couple of mph then I would have done a 1/4 a fair bit quicker, I was having to change into 4th just before the line, which must have cost me a bit of time.
Not sure on the F20-28 ratios.

think the ratios are the same just the 28 has a 6th .. only thing to slow you down with f28 is the extra weight .. but dont think it would make any noticeable difference in performance
