my 1.6 has finally given up so took it to some garage to see what needs to be fix and they say "its fcuked!"! gotta get new engine put in so off they go to get me a quote and out they come with, for a 1.6 fitted, £1800 surely thats ridiculous!!! didnt really want to get a 2ltr yet, was gonna go throttle bodies, but i can get a 2ltr conversion for the same amount at some places tho cant i?

lee will do 1600 swap for circa 700-800
go to a different garage though.

well they sorta know me through other mates so when they said "its fcuked" they sorta new who they were talking to so might a well get to the point and also a 1600 swap for 7-800 does that mean i give him my engine and he fits a 2ltr for that price?

no. straight swap, like for like. he'll find and fit a new 1.6 16v for you for that much.
as said, 2.0 16v is 1500£
