I had the software monitoring software open but as soon as you get a signal strength or Quality below 60% the net just wont load

Check the ip address

On IE 198.168.1.1 type username:admin password: admin and play around with settings.

cheers mate, can i use you as a reference, i need to get me a job

nah, ive had to set my own wireless network up and i just spent days pee'ing around with settings etc and ive learnt from that


super_si - security stuff isnt a problem mate i would deffo recommend WAP encryption mate, otherwise people will just steal your internet connection etc (like i can do around my way, so many people who havn't locked down their routers etc). Also, i would recommend that you set static ip address and then lock the router to the MAC address of your wireless adaptors - just for extra security etc

I gave up with WAP the overheads were too big

got it setup on my wireless network and i only get about 5-10k max difference, which is sod all tbh
plus id have the overheads than some pikey nicking my internet connection, and mac address lock down isnt sucrure on its own as you can find the address of a wireless adaptor pretty easierly
