If you've paid half because of the shit job, then surely you've agreed the work was substandard and closed the deal.

Take the other half somewhere else and get them to put it right.

Ah right.

Then write a letter asking for one of two things:

1) He agrees to complete the work on the car to a suitable standard and you'll pay the remaining dollar

B) He refunds you the money you've already paid and you go elsewhere.

I personally wouldn't play the legal card until you've exhausted all reasonable requests to sort it.

Going too heavy too quickly usually annoys people.

You can take it back and get it done to a satisfactory standard, if they refuse, you can take it to court but it's 50/50wether you get your money back or not.

I had a dent removed from my Saxo and the work was shit. It had marks on it and he hadn't blended the colour in so you could tell it had been resprayed. I took it back this morning and picked it up at 5 and i've gotta say he's done an ace job The car also come out with a mark on the drivers door trim and he's fixed that too. He's a nice guy and all that but everytime i've had work done there i've had to take it back again. 3 times i'ved used him and i've been back each time too. I don't think i will use him again though as i think he just rushes the job thinking your not arsed. The point being, if i wasn't arsed about they way my car looked then i wouldn't have got the dent removed.

I'd take you car back mate and give the guy another chance. Don't pay him another penny untul the job is done properly and your are happy with it.
