I had something like that when I unplugged one of my LCD displays without turning the switch off and blew the power inveror - I needed Dell to give me a new one for free... But to do that I had to speak to some Indian who could barely speak English. SHe was going on about installing the drivers e.t.c... and I was saying that the screen wouldn't turn on...

Luckily I got a new one after spending 20 mins on the phone
