Hi
I have a 1993 1200 Corsa. Its in good order except has just failed the MOT on emissions - it passed the natural idle but failed fast idle with high CO and HC but low lander. The readings were...
Engine oil temp 80 (OK - on the limit)
CO (top limit 0.3%) 2.96% (1st test) 9.74% (2nd test)
HC (top limit 200ppm) 301ppm (1st) 511ppm (2nd)
lander (bottom limit 0.97) .909 (1st) .789 (2nd)
I would be really grateful for any advice on how to get it through.

if you have an induction kit, remove it & fit standard box/filter.
also could be a sign the lamba sensor is buggered and/or possible cat failure...

Try getting it crypton tuned as this is usually down to being out of tune/ faulty parts on ignition system or could be lambda sensor as said above.Shouldn't cost too much for a tune up either and they usually fit any parts that are faulty at the time

throw a bottle of this in http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m1b13s26p54&tbv=FORTE_GAS_TREATMENT_Accessories_&_Misc_Parts_Fuel,_Engine,_Anti_Freeze_&_Other_Additives and it should then pass, u can get it from vauxhall and its wot they use to make cars pass an emissions test.

Mine was doin the exact same thing. I bought some of that Forte injector cleaner and it passed.
