no im not taking the piss
my 1.2 8v has 126k on the clock & theres a 1.2 16v lump for sale near me for £100. i could probably get the gearbox for abit extra too
at the mo the gearlinkage on the 8v is fooked & thats gonna cost me to get it sorted
is it worth converting it? how hard would it be?
thanks

the 1.2 16v engine is hard to do as the wireing loom is all different etc! wouldnt bother with it, find a 1.4 or 1.6 16v?

its just a case of extending all the wires out into the engine bay, as the ecu is there, othere then that it should be the same as any other conversion really.

my 1.2 8v has done 132000 miles now and im gonna swap it with another 1.2 8v its alot less hassle than a larger engine etc, im only 18 now so i wont be able to afford insurance if i put anythin larger in so im the same shoes as you matt h!
hopefully in a few years if i got money! il put a 1.6 in and tune it a bit, but until then just gonna focus on getting it goin and lookin ok,
