Hi there
first 1/4mile of my life and my corsaturbo
was on the same track it shows on some vidz and pikz i post
it was raining, so the track was wet but did it without rain
14.50
won my class (1400 to 2000 turbo)
it will be on the org site soon at http://www.dragracingshow.com
but not all was good
it was a race day and some CTR crashed and spilled oil
so the ppl who run in that side of the track just spinned like hell
videos soon of my 2 runs with m8z Astra Coupe
what do you think... did i do good?

I have never attempted a 1/4 mile but a guess would be to bring the power in progressively with your's being a FWD turbo, until in 3rd/4th when you can just put pedal to the floor. Probably launching at 3-4k might help.

launching at 3/4k in a light turbo with no diff (no diff yet is there??) will spin like buggery.... but if you have grippy tyres and a dry track this may work well.... once you are in 2nd just fooookin nail it
by 3rd 4th its going to be nearly over..... a c20let isnt that powerfull!!!!!
Do you have your 60ft times from the day?
i have managed a
1.9sec before in supra
2.1 in corsa
2.0 or 2.0 in Punto
Its all down to the launch, the rest is pretty easy as long as you change at sensible rpm and dont miss gears
WET track - launch with revs at idle and lots of clutch slip

I am sure it has a quaife diff now, and lots and lots of power.

A quaife and 300bhp from the C20Let
You should see the mid range torque, it's not a power curve but a wall curve
That's what I call light pressure turbo

14.5 is pretty good for a wet track. I imagine your struggling with traction pretty much all the way.
Should get it much lower with a dry track and practice...

14.5 is goo on a wet track with a LET..... all the power in them gets wasted on wheel spin....

Hi there
sorry to dig this post
but popped my second DragRace
this time was on dry
did it in 2nd gear again
used slick tyres... but got STILL alot of spin
So... 2 pop... did 13.95!
Mental note:
Still think N/A cars are much better for 1/4 mile or track day race.
Actually... any 200hp N/A car is better then a 200hp turbo or compressed one.
Turbo ones are just for street fun and kick... not efective in racing... more budget, probably will have better results... has in WRC!
