Well have you got an ECU for ya engine, cos if ya didnt get the transponder out of that exact car you will need another ecu and transponder from another, only way to check is to go back to car that engine came from and check round the lock barrel on the ignition for the sensor thingy. But i belive it was in 1995 that the chip key thing came into play

was an early 95 car it came from, key looked like my lreg 8v one... no chip thingy

My LS had the wee sensor thing, but wasnt wired in!

If it dont start just try it then do the following
1. Swap ecu get key and lockbarrel thingy from same car
2. take it to vauxhall and they will programme the key and ecu for ya for allot of cash

thats no good then, was it at a breakers?, could ring em and ask??, think ya best bet is to just see if it starts or not once its all installed,
