allows hot air in from the pipe that comes from the manifold... engine vacuum causes it to open/shut to vary richness of fuel mixture IIRC, something like that.

would take a little longer too warm up. no biggy. u dont have 1 when u have an induction kit so cant hurt not having it.
Some bloke told me at vauxhall that if it dont have it the fuel can freeze on the injectors (bollocks me thinks tho) petrol dont freeze easerly

My carbs used to ice up all the time.
