checked doors, tailgate and bonnet.
fob still works from a distance, so it's not the battery in that.
do you get a car battery low voltage warning? i had to charge it up this week.

What model Clifford have you got? You can see what they chirps mean here: http://www.clifford.com/guides/other.asp

But 4 chirps usually means your cars armed but the bonnet or boot is ajar.

just read that it should be bonnet or boot, and there's a led flash indication when you turn on the ignition that confirms it.
they're definately both shut, so i'll take a look at the switches tomorrow, see if there's anything obviously up with them.

don't think it's the batt.
it did it yesterday, and is still doing it today after a drive. i've had bonnet and boot open yesterday and today, double checked they are shut, so it must be a dodgy bonnet switch. (i hope) god knows what it'll be if not.

at draught. probably coming in from the floor bungs.

It's definately the bonnet switch. Rain water gets into the switch and causes it to malfunction. Spray the switch with some WD40 and work it in by repeatedly pushing the switch, then grease it all up with Vaseline or something similar.

I fitted a more reliable switch to mine to prevent this but I still have to grease it up every 6 months or so.

If this doesn't work then you need to get a Spirit Level style switch that is fully waterproof and you fit it to the metal arm of your bonnet.

where did they locate your bonnett sensor myke? mine is near side on the slam panel, whenever it jet wash the car it does the 4 beep thing, as said above it sounds like there is water in the switch.

it rained at all? or you washed the car?

10 out of 10 times i wash the car it will chirp 4 times.

I dont think the bonnet sensor likes the wet much.

If it's 6 flashes on the LED when check, it'll be the bonnet sensor......I've just had to re-grease mine aswell, after having it replaced 18 months ago (had a broken headlight-glass on that side for 2 days, until I fitted the Morettes, and it happened to utterly piss down with rain on both days).

yeah it is the bonnet sensor, cheers guys.

they've used the standard one which has rubber protection, but it must have screwed up somehow.
i did wash the car the day before, but wouldn't have thought that much got under to the supension turret.

anyway, i've disconnected it now as a temporary fix untill i can get a replacement, and it's all good now.

cheers for pointers.
