Is it worth me upgrading to an Athlon 64?

my current setup in brief:

Abit NF7-S Motherboard
Athlon 2500+ @ 2.2ghz (200fsb)
ATI Radeon 9800Pro
Audigy 2 soundcard
512mb Twinmos 400Mhz DDR Ram

Would i see a massive improvement in performance if i changed the motherboard and cpu? My graphics card can still handle it's own and i wasn't planning on changing it.

Any particular recommendations for a 64bit motherboard? I'd like to stick with Abit if possible.

cheers

your spec is fine, could always max out whatever your motherboard can take CPU/RAM wise, I'll take a stab in the dark and say 3000xp and 2gb of ram?
