ok see when you sell your car you fill in new owners details on your v5 thingymajig.
thing is i put my H11 CYY on retention last week so that part of the form has been sent away, told the dvla dude how long etc itl take as am selling the car but he says i can use the bits left over to fill in blah blah
havin a look tonight as the car is going tm
i dont have the part to fill in new owners details
bit am left with says that when selling the car both the keeper/seller sign and date it etc
SO should i wait for the form make the guy wait
or
take note of his details and meet up again when i get the form sent back to me?

Go to the DVLA office with the form and it gets done straight away, else you could be looking at 6 weeks maybe longer to get it changed

I had this with my corsa......Skinny was willing to take car withought the V5....and send to him later but luckily it came within 3 weeks...
You really are not meant to sell until the v5 is back with the new reg on it...some buyers may take it...
It will still be registered in your name till the V5 comes back and you then give it to new buyer and change things over...
think about...speeding tickets......parking tickets etc..
i am in same position at moment ...my plate is still on and need to get it put on retention....car may be going in a week or so...going to have to sort something out.
