my friends 1.4 SPI that im trying to sell aint been run for 10 days, and no musfires really bad? Any quick cures? Ive got it warm and driven it hard, but dont wanna go when you aceelarate?

first of all try a new set of spark plugs.......£10er for Ngk's
if that dont cure it.....try a set of ignition/HT leads......£10-£15
if that dont cure it......get a haynes manual......and replace the rotor arm and dizzee cap....(distributor cap).....
thn try going down the scrapyard and getting a ignition coil.......no point going new unless you have money to burn...(ignition coil is gunna cost you £90+)

all spot on with the ignition coil u meaning the coil pack ? just never heard it called ignition coil b4

Ok. Its cured itself somehow? Left it to get warm and now runs fine. Me thinkin it was just damp in the dizzee cap?

some older cars have a ignition coil.......like a round cylinder type thing about 6inches long......has one wire going to the distributor......and then it sends power to the 4 HT leads.......
coil packs are modern technoledgy more or less.....
will try n find a picture of what i mean

the coil pack is a black box with cooling fins onit thats on the side of the head, and just has 4 wires on a connector plug going into it and then 4 too the plugs
