Ok before anyone laughs at the idea i am only asking out of interest and if its not worth doing i wont. Any idea's on what i could do to my 1.4 8v to make it faster? Already got a partly stripped interior with cobra seats and no rears. Looking towards engine mods now. If its not worth doing just say so and dont start all the usual sh*te

the 82bhp MPi one can respond well to a new cam, exhaust mods (manifold, de-cat, straight through) and a bit of mapping

8v manifold and a T3 turbo... was tempting, but no point bothering trying to make it all work

Depends how much you wanna spend really. The engine isnt the best, but its not a lost cause i dont think. Could always get a straight through exhaust system, MPi head (Bigger valves, and better flowed iifc), and pick up some second hand Twin webbers and manifold. Should see you with a good bump in power for somewhere near the £500 mark. Then there are cams and headwork to go for. Carbs arent really the best option, but there cheap and do the job .

Good idea

Go for the 1.6 or 2 litre, if you have the money go for the 2 litre turbo
