Does anyone know how to make the purple bit gret Last time i put the Win XP SP2 on it made it grey but hasn't this time

try changing the theme, right click desktop, properties then change the theme to just Windows XP not Windows XP (modified)

you will have to do an reinstall of internet explorer then, requires a registry tweak which i cant remember off the top of my head before you try and reinstall IE6, download ie 6 fro microsoft then do a search for the registry tweak you need to do
