As it seems to go with every ecotec engine sooner or later, EGR valves gone. Anyone know where i can get a gasket and blanking plate for it? And will it affect my engine by removing the whole system? Or give me any trouble come MOT time?

Thanks!

I can do the blanking plate for £7 inc P+P but you still need to clean the valve or replace it to get it working for the light to go off

you can make a blanking plate easy enough just use a piece of coke can and use the valve as a template to cut the shape out remembering the holes each side for the screws to go through when u put the plate in and refix the valve. i never got round to making one just drove with the valve disconnected for about 6 months

But you need to make sure the plates can clear the valve hence the middle one with the hole
