you should of done the snow test.
Piss into it, then eat it. If it's cold and tastes of piss and is slightly yellow then it is real snow.

Probably a good idea to get lessons then. It's dangerous on snow, on dry snow your are going to kill yourself, and waste your money because you'll soend the whole time on your ass. Won't be much more than £20 for an hour including equipment.

£16 an hour off peak, £20 peak. Also do session discounts.
If you have never done it before get some lessons first, if the patrols spot you falling over and not being in control they will throw you off without refund. and you will piss people off if you start holding lifts up or crashing into folk.
Once you get the basics you can pick everything else up yourself with parctice.

Be prepared for getting addicted to it though! I've been to Xscape a Castlford 6 times over Xmas and I'm going again tonight, plus you end up buying your own gear etc.
I'm even seriously considering jacking my well paid job next winter and doing a season abroad

I go to Canada on Tuesday to do a season out there Skiing though, far cooler
