first engine in my car was a 1.2 8v spi, which i had changed for a 1.4 16v mpi, after the conversion i heard of ppl saying the spi pump wouldnt run a mpi engine however it runs fine, only question is im in middle of putting a valver in so should it still be ok? main reason asking is if it need changing all my boot bulid will have to be ripped up which obv will be a pain.

If you have a spi pump in there change it for an Mpi

your x14xe wont be running optimum with the Spi pump in there

you'd probably starve the engine of fuel...

no way you could drop the tank and take the pump out that way??

I'm sure you can drop the tank with the pump still in it. Might be more of a pain as there's loads of breather pipes routed around there, plus you need to loosen handbrake.

when i had the 2.0 - i had the 1.2 pump in tank, and an exteral pump. the external fked up once, so i reconnected the one in tank (just to get home) , car would run, but u will get fuel cut once u get to about 3-4k revs
