Closest to factory size gives you a speedo reading which is closest to factory speedo error, so yes, 195/45 is a good choice (2.4% smaller) as is 195/50 (1.1% bigger)
To make the speedo read properly you would need to know what the factory error is, and you'd need to go fairly large. Speedos can legally read up to 10% more than you're actually going but even if you can fit a 205/60 under the arch it will look rubbish.
If you want an accurate speedo, get a PDA with GPS or a Road Angel or something. Don't use this as a reason to buy huge tyres.

205/40/17 is 4.6% bigger than standard so you're probably nearly there.
You'll not get something small enough to give you the same reading as your factory tyres did though.
PS I'm assuming factory tyre is 1.4 Sport spec ie 165/65/14 (570mm rr) 165/70/13 are smaller again (561).

Might not need new tyres looking at that picture
That will look soooo bad unless you put skimpy tyres on.
You painting the centres I hope...

I have 215 on an 8" rim, 225 won't look stretched on 7.5.
