I am unaware of any software/driver problems with SP2? Works fine with me, and i have had it since day 1. Wireless is much easier to set up with SP2, but the security centre is a load of unneeded shit. However, running services.msc from run and shutting down the unneeded parts has done the trick

the driver database is the same as xp sp1 and is improved so driver compatibility is no worse than XP b4

Why the fuck wouldnt you install it???? SP1, as Steve said is major security risk these days, even more so if you still use Internet Explorer.
Remote Desktop, if left on is a major security flaw, not to mention the SSDP Discovery Service, Such a bad security risk, that Microsoft have let everyone know of its importance, just to cover their own ass!!

SP2 has at least cured some of these problems.

If the HOT copy is using a serial which starts with FCKGW then it wont install.

nah it doesnt, had to convert the key to another one when i installed SP1 but im guessing SP2 install will have a biggger invalid key database, so im worrying if there is a dodgy SP2 install around or anything

As a rule of thumb, hot copies are pretty much all the same ones, shared round on P2P. I bought myself a copy of XP upgrade, and use that after hard formatting, then i just ring up microsoft and tell them the PNN, and i get activation straight away, no questions asked. Its mostly scare tactics.
