Ne1 got any ideas of how to unprotect protected wma files???? i know this is possible but havent heard of a way to do it, im sure some1 here must have done it or know how to?

Only on the old version of the WMA codec. The new version uses a newer protection that's yet uncracked.

I think dBPowerAMP will convert WMA to mp3 removing all protection... not sure without trying it, but I don't have any protected files

u c i have napster and download everything from there cos winmx and kazaa dont work on the ridiculously fast uni connection

cos then i can burn them to a cd and play them in my car! as my stereo doesnt support protected wma files so it tells me

There is isnt a solution to convert WMA files which are DRM encrypted.
Only easiest option is to re record the file using a sound recorder on your PC and save that file as MP3 from the recorder. If it sounds confusin then I can help you if you would like.

Total Recorder is one.
But you can use mostly any SW that can record as long as you set your sound card right. But try Total Recorder
