Just watching a video with a heap of escorts in it and they mentioned that the astra gte had the advantage of more power, lighter and mainly an lsd fitted as standard so was just wondering what gear box had the lsd as standard if anyone knows?

yep the superboss was a GTE with an LSD nad about 165-170 bhp as standard, belive it was a south african version only, which is why you dont see many

like the well known astra 200ts, the opel kadett superboss was a limited production south african model with a much more impressive spec then anything available in the uk
based on a kadett gsi 16v (just like our astra gte 16v), the special edition superboss featured a modified 20xe engine with balanced bottom end and high lift cams, kickin out 168bhp. it was still badged as a gsi, but could be recognised by its 5 spoke alloys. a few cars had power steering and air conditioning.

best of all it was home to an lsd, which had a stunning affect on the cars handling....blah blah blah....

south africans were also treated to the kadett boss and big boss limited editions (what shite names). the boss was based on a normal 8v gsi (gte) while the big boss was a midly tuned gsi(gte) 16v with around 155bhp.


just wrote all that out of a Q&A in total vauxhall lol
