i was driving down a road at 40 mph come to a round about and stoiped went to pull away and floored it and i heard a lound band and the car stoped and wont move but the lump still ran but wouldnt move u can take your foot off the clutch and the car dont move but u can hear the gearbox moving in side lol anyone know what could be wrong i,e clutch, bearing, shafts, or hubs it didnt sound like a snap so what could it be thanxs peeps

sounds like a driveshaft has popped out or snapped mate

but it didnt sound like a snap lol more like a pop
so if it is a shaft poped out would i have to get new bearings

its proberly snaped inside the cv joint then if u cant see any damage on the shaft have a look at the cv joints on the ends

u wouldnt need to get new bearings

Sounds like when i broke a shaft. Pop the bonnet and you should be able to see down?

when my cv joint snaped the drive shaft was spinning when ticking over

Strip everything down and see whats broke, it could be the shafts, or it could be the CV's.

TBH an XE shouldnt be snapping shafts...

could even be the clutch friction material detaching from the plate and slipping but id check shafts and cvs first

or if the shafts wasnt fully in the box when it was put in it could have popped out of the box
