you can reduce the size of the mp3 file by reducing its quality / bit rate. Search downloads.com for a program.
I used a program called goldwave to cut my mp3's to ringtones i liked then sent them via bluetooth to my s700 !

got the same phone mate - you need the ericsson drm packager- you cant download it of there website anymore cause they want you to pay for ringtones!
what this does is make any mp3 tone into a dm file that can work on the phone -same quality. then just cut up the mp3 on nero wave editor - you wont have any luck with the one included on the cd rom as it will come out messed up cause its poo
and all the above comments wont work either- its not as simple on the s700i
try google for the package!

Jay C like Mr Jaftser says, you need to download the drm packager from sonyericsson website. Very useful tool and takes around 4/5 seconds to convert a mp3 song. The bad thing about this program is that you cannot transfer them onto another phone. When you try sending them via bluetooth it will not allow you to send them.
