i got one, Kawasaki SX550 solo.
Tips - dont fall off at high speed cause it fookin hurts. you need the power on to steer, and watch out for ducks/swans
If you gonna get one, get it soon as the prices will go up the closer we get to summer

I depends really, i picked 2 550's up for £800 a few years back, they just needed painting. You could probably pick up a half decent 550/650 for £500 - £700
This is the place i got mine from
http://www.downtide.com/index2.htm
They sometimes have a few trade ins
Or have a look at http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/pages/jet_skis.php or http://www.ebay.co.uk/

another cheap one, but its only a 440cc

Or a hull and a box of bits for cheap

Hmm, an x2 will probably be the cheapest, but they are quite dated now.

They are the same as a kawasaki sx650 stand up, but with a small seat
Im gonna trade mine in this year for an ultra 150
I've just seen this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1295&item=4537045735&rd=1 im so tempted

by the time i come to buy (probably this winter at this rate) i will probably have about £2.5 - £3k to spend.
Are they cheap to run? Hopefully if i get the cash ready for winter i could get one cheapish ready for next summer

about the same as a bigish motorbike I would guess. Mines only a little 550cc so uses about the same as a lawnmower you just have to look after them and they will look after you (like flushing it out after use, plenty of oil & wd40, correct storage during the winter)

tbh, i would keep it in a garage/shed anyway, so many go missing.
you also have to drain all fuel, remove battery, a few drops of oil down the plug holes, and a general oil/grease up of cables, nuts & bolts.
