dvla deals with licenses, you can try the police but not sure they'd be able to help

i think the course has to be offered to you in the post as far as i know, i dont think you can just ask for it to loose the points, otherwise everyone would go on it

beardy is right, u cant just request to go on this course, you have to be asked as it goes n many factors liek the nature of what you did (speed, environment, etc etc etc) and the mood of whoever is dealing with your offence

yea, you can't request to go onto the course. Your offered it, before you get your points. Since you've already accepted the points there nowt you can do now. Just have to wait 5 years for ur insurance to drop again i'm in the same boat, lol

Yeah you have to be offered to do the course, you can't request it. And they suspend th epoints till you've compeleted th ecourse if you fail to then they issue them. It normally only done for drives considered to be "high risk"
A friend had to attend a course after skidding in to the back of the cheif of the herts traffic police

It's only 3 points, just dont' get anymore. And speeding in a 30 60's are for speeding.

this is what pisses me off about the police, why should he have to attend a course because by chance he happened to rear end a police car, if it wouldve been a general member of the public they wouldnt have given a fuck

These re-training courses will be available to those offenders who once convicted of a speeding offence have 7-11 points on their licence (including the sentence for the offence in question), which will mainly be serious repeat offenders. The offender will then be able to participate on a retraining course at his or her own expense, successful completion of which will mean that 2 or 3 points (depending upon the offence in question) will no longer be taken into account. Effectively these points, but not the record of the endorsement, will be wiped from the licence 12 months after sentencing.

I been on one of those courses after i had a head-on with a 106, they basically sed, go on this course or go2 court, well the smash was my fault so i thought whats £115 for the course to keep my license (had only been driving 6 weeks) was nearly 4 years ago now and havent had a smash since (that was my fault anyway)
