save ur cash and get a 2.0 16v conversion
but with wot u got already i would say cams and a remap, maybe a sealed induction kit, now not sure if ur manifold was a inlet or exhaust but either of them if u havent then theres not alot more except internals then throttle bodies

If you already have:
Inlet manifold
Exhaust manfild
De-Cat
Uni-chip
then next step would be to get some 264cams
ARP rod botls
7.5krpm limit (via a chip)
then strip the extra weight out of your lardy corsa.
Past the above. Sell everything,
get some twin 45 webbers
standlone ignition managment
300degree cams
forged high intruder pistons
Steel rods
solid lifters
Flowed head
9.5k redline
and you'll be knockign about 165-170BHP out.
Or cheat and get a 75bhp shot of nitrous on a progressive controller.

Oh or you could:
forged low comp pistons
steel rods,
under pistons cooling
T28 turbo
flowed head
high lift low duration cams
very big intercooler+ oil cooler
Big flywheel and F20 gearbox
And run 2bar of boost in at 7krpm and make about 280-300BHP
But would only last about 15-20hours at those loads.

Yep you're right a 1400cc turbo si a bit pointless, but a 1350cc one is a plan for hillclimbing and sprinting as it bumps you in to the 2L N/A class.
I have a Tb'd 1.4 16V in my nova, and it much more fun to drive than a 2L 16v'd example. Depeneds what you want though.
Pub talk or track fun

Cause they come from the factory like that.
To do a 1.4 properly, it's costly and prohibitively so when you can by a 2L turbo for 1200 and bung that in there.

No ones saying it's impossible, just that its not econmically viable unless racing

Because FIAT spent months/years in the boardroom designing their engines, costs millions.
