Ok here im talking from my own PERSONAL experience. I've ran these lights all with the same GM bulbs and all were correctly alligned at an MOT station, bar the FK's which had to be adjusted as much as possible over to car side of the road (right) to avoid dazzling oncomming traffic...
STANDARD headlights (from showroom so brand new)
DEPO smoked RHD
FK black inner euro style LHD
The best ive used was DEPO and worst FK, FK are terrible but what do you expect from a LHD which is trying to light up the whole left side of the road!! Ive NO IDEA why the Depo ones were so good, if anything the SHOULD be worse as the inner is black and not reflective but I found these BETTER than std, but not by much.

so the clear crystal lensed headlights in paul_spurrell's post above would be ok or not?

The clear crystal are the same as the FK LHD ones so no illegal and poor visibility but im managing fine.... And look loads better than the Depo ones IMO.
