i know this is a LET, but i'm guessing its the same as XE in this part.
what is the belt on the left hand side of the pic?
what are the two pulleys?
are there any serious consequences if it has come off?
finally, can it be fitted back on straight away without problems?
happened yesterday going to work
alternator belt fixed. new problem further down

found another problem following that.
when the alternator belt came off, it manage to take a wire along with it. its from the power cable, and it has now ripped a little plug off.
pics in 2 ticks.

as you can see, the plug has had the wires yoinked out.
obviously the bare wire, will connect to the one that stll has the metal bit inside the plug.
problem is i have 2 wires left.
1 goes to bare wire
2 goes to...?
3 goes to...?

right, got the car started now.
it moves and works, but the idle on start up is a bit wobbly.
not sure whether it has always been like this, or i'm getting paranoid

the crankshaft sensor not being connected would cause the engine to run like poo.... after all it tells the plugs when to spark.....
it would take alot longer to start than normal and basically be shit
i thought the crankshaft sensor is on the inlet side of the engine... it is on a 1.6... though might be differnt on the c20
