Internal = Profit - Reduce Workin Capital - Sale of assets - leaseback
External = Loans - Overdrafts - debentures - shareholders

does General Profits not cover Retained Profits ? I thought profit was retained in the first place

Yeah but its normally classed as retained profits. If i remember correct on the trial balance sheets etc they are 2 seperate incomes etc

Retained profit is balance sheet i.e. a current asset, profit (gross/net) is a P&L item.
