How is it dodgy? I am a single parent who worked part time and didnt earn enough and was entitled to working families tax credit and that cancelled out the tax I had to pay

but £19k in 9 months with no tax. I know u said most was tips but that seems to good to be true.
Wouldn't it be worth your while to employ a babysitter and do it again? or get your mum to look after the kid?

What was the salary? It must have been low if you paid no tax?!?!?! 4700 a year low?

or am i missing it entirely?

I'm not paying tax because i'm working abroad for 6mths+

Anything under 10k is classed as low salery for anybody 21+
Well thats how the working families tax credit works which I got which cancelled out the tax
Tips are voluntary by the puntersand not guaranteed and also varies everyday, thats why u cant decalre it

Wrong. leagaly you are meant to declare you tips to the tax man

No, it isnt guaranteed and its voluntary so its not needed
Its in the handbook from the head of casinos a letter fom the government saying u dont need to decalre them

Didnt say it was guaranteed did I?

If you make say 6k a year on tips you should put this down on your tax return. And then they will alter your tax code to recoup the money or ask yo to pay up the next tax year is different
