people taliking of 240+ BHP from an Engine that weighs kg less than a Red top.
So what do you need to do to the 1.6 lump in order to reach even 200+BHP?

TB's
High lift duration cams
Solid slifters
uprated valve springs
Forged intruder pistons
steel rods
balanced crank
verniners pulley
steel rollers
good oil
massive oil coller
and a decent gearbox to use the power.
That if you want the engine to last that is.

Oh www.sbdev.co.uk if you look at the price list for all the bits.
If you built it up I'd say 5-6k
To have a good place do it 8k

depends what you want out of the car really, all the tunning that can be done to a 1.6 can be done to a 2.0 what engine do you have at the moment?

If you're minted and are prepared to shell out ££££ to see similar gains as with half the cost of a c20xe then go for it.

Depends what u want, do you just want power or tbs specifically?
if you want tb's then go the 1.6 route buy settle at 170 bhp and u wont need such a huge spec but will need a fair bit of internal work!
If you just want 200 bhp, then 20xe and tune that or if you can really afford it
Power per ££ has to be the LET conversion, but thats turbo!
All depends what you want

I'm sticking with the 1.6i in my GSi...
Its already stripped out too, I aim to get high 15's at the pod during PVS if possible...
I managed 16.4 with full interior last time & a standard-spec GSi with the rear removed pulled a 15.9 so hopefully...

I think properly set up nitrous on a controller would be fun to see how far it oculd be taken. Just got to find someone to donate an engine to see

I thought you were tuning? If you already know what power figures are possible with the engines then the standard figures are irrelevant.
