Just having a look on the Silverstone web site, and saw that they offer free entry to the F1 Test days.

Has any one been to one of these ????

Are they any good ???

Been to test days and the Race itself, The test days are pretty boring but Excellent if your a keen photographer cos you can get soem pics you wouldn't normally get on Race day

Try gettin yourself down to an F1 Race the sound of those 22 cars on the Starting grid is immense

yep been to testing before.

Thing is you might go and no one will come out to test that day or you might go and every one comes out.

Only part of the track is open to the public as well.

Check every teams website closer to the time and they normally confirm if they are going out as well.

this is true I nearly got chucked out in 2000 for wandering around the circuit ( i was behind the wall though i was not on the circuit at any stage)

learned from that and stayed where i was told in 2001 havent been down since 2003 though would love to go down again soon Now i have the Digital Camera's!

i went to a test day at silverstone, as i was there with the national college of motorsport, i was able to wander down the pit lane, walk around the williams garage, rub ralph schumacher and then watch all the cars flying round the circuit

also got to go to track days and had a blast at the rally school in a mark 2 escort

its a good crack if you like f1 i suppose, but its a bit like drag racing, its a bit dull if no-ones on track

i might look at going to one of these - especially at ticket prices for a shitty placed seat at silverstone is 200 quid a pop (can get a 3 day pass for the canadian GP for 150 dollars, which incs decent seats).

Good post though

Cheers guys

I'll give Silverstone a call closer to the time and see if the F1 teams will be out testing, so i know not to waste a trip up there.
