agree and i have an ipod
you lot recon?
are there many difference apart from appearence etc? or what are the pros/cons of the sony over an ipod?
tar
The cons would be that the Sony software is shit and you don't get iTunes.
no really worried about software nor itunes - but cons/pros with the players as a whole?
im just after something that is simple and does whats on the tin ie: fill it up with mp3s and go take it out and about etc
doug - for a 20gig mate, your gonna be paying anything from 130/40+ on ebay. Although holla at dave, he'll let you know what he gets in etc and then sort a price

Now i might be wrong, but arent Ipods a con?
The batteries in them only last a couple of years, and they cannot be replaced.
The software which you install on the PC only allows your Ipod to connect to it, and you cannot connect it to another PC or your own PC after a reformat?
is this right? if so they want shooting

Wrong in both cases. The first generation of iPods had the battery problem, but the problem was sovled in the 2nd generation, and they're now on 4th so it's long gone. And you can connect it to more than 1 computer without any problems, I know that because that's what my Mum does. You just can't use it with PCs and Macs at the same time.

if the ipod is set up in the default way, songs can not be put onto an ipod from one pc, and then transferred onto another pc.
