My car seems to burn oil. It needs topping up regularly, ie 2 weekish.

What could be the problem? Read somewhere about piston rings?

valve seals, piston rings.....

what engine, miles.... does it smoke at all

the 1.4/1.6 16v engines use a bit.....

no it doesn't really smoke. no oil leaks.

i have the same car they are thirsty at the best of times but once the miles start racking up they guzzle it.just always keep an eye on it

my 1.6 uses 1 litre of oil a week and smokes like an coal train

as mentioned about rings/valve stem seals.... also the breather system...

beat mine - oil was full before i set off to santa pod 2 weeks ago, got there was on minumum

topped up or re-filled should i say and same on way home

well i dont burn it i use total loss oil filtration... whereby mucky oil pisses out the engine so you keep putting clean in the top

nah ran new engine in but had too thin oil in AND needed to go to London so motorway didnt do it any good so smokes like a bitch now using shit loads of oil haha
