either treat it or cut out the rust, then weld plates over the top. prime thouroughly and underseal or waxoyl.

i just had to have a small plate put onto mine on the inside of the n/s chassis rail.

my car failed last year for rust in that exact same chasis location on the drivers side!!
but not half as bad as yours!!!
mine just needed a bit of weilding and a plate put in

its important to "underseal" your car and keep it maintained! especially if its a old car like mine 94 L reg! it helps prevent severe rust like that!

the mechanic at the garage said that he had seen it a few times on the older corsa's but wasnt sure why, its a bit weird because there is no rust anywhere else on the car thats as bad as that!!! i will "underseal" the car when i fix this rust. maybe i should make a tutorial?

i got my mate to weld it instead of the garage saving me £200!!

this is the other side with no rust !!

i undersealed the car again and all the guy did was felt it with his hand and gave me the certificate!!!

mine did the same.the twat at the mot station was pokin it with a screwdriver and he stuck the point straight through so i rub it down and treated it then welded my own plate over.then undersealed the whole car took it back and they said that it then failed on the the tyres bein below legal limit the thing was i took the cat back about 3 hours after it failed the first time and the tyres were fine then so i managed to get the tyre failure overturned even though the tryes were legal.
