might be buying a engine from benji but hes not sure on the engine code i need a C16XE but he sez his gsi is a later model n/m reg didnt they change them to the X16XE after 94? which is better to mod aswell mine or his?

the c16xe is a better engine but theres really not that much in it... the x16xe has a few more silly systems that can cause problems...

C16XE was only built & found on the L-Reg GSi's, though the X16XE engine found in later GSi's (M-N) & sports (P-X) have more tuning parts availible it seems, where i struggled to find a 4 branch for my C16XE but modified one from a X16XE it fit, however ive just been onto the Regal site & lexmaul have got a 4 branch awaiting TUV certification

same yes, except port & valve sizes & cams are different (well, exhaust cam is)

I'm having a C16XE Mantzel fitted Saturday.

BTW C16XE engines came on a K, L & M reg, Steve106GTi's GSi was a M-reg and had C16XE.

yeah i was going to purchase a K reg in white at one point, but decided on a 20k Sport 1.6 instead, from a dealer rather than a scrawny back alley car/drug shop
