when i floor it their is a sort of flowing/gushing sound from the CAT area???
however their are no leaks!

or is it just a sound a new CAT makes, in which case how long will it last??

you can see roughly from these pics the new cat, the conenctions are good tight fit!!

as my car is quite low, ive hit the cat a couple of times now and i think i have got a small hole in it, and when i was out before in it, i thought i could hear a hissing noise from round the cat/manifold area

Its a bugger, my old Cat had just disintegrated around the flexipipe bit, the new ones been fitted, and refitted about six times now between myself and motosave - and I can still hear hissing

hmmmm, was it a original vauxhall CAT part??
mine was a third party make, but for a third of the price too

i fitted mine myslef, used brand new bolts, brackets and seals everywere and i know its a very good air tight fit so im sure theirs no leaking...

either the cat is faulty, which it cant be coz my car just passed MOT or its just a sound it makes while its new new???? had it on the car for about 100 miles now

My "new" cat was actually from a breakers. Its done 6k and cost 45 quid. And yeah, its a standard Vaux part.

Im gonna change the manifold gasket once more, then if that doesnt work, put it down to paranoia

im not sure, i guess it just needs to settle to the car it is on??

best thing to do is get couple mates to stand on the pavement n listen to your car as you drive down, if it can be heard then its a problem otherwise not really a big deal as it cant be heard and people wont notice n look at you!

TBH Im not botherd about what it sounds like, aslong as it gets through the MOT. Ive just had a new windscreen fitted, newish cat and I still need an AFM so I dont want to be wasting the 40quid or whatever for the MOT for the sake of something a new gasket could fix.
