should go in a 1.4 8v engine when doing a oil change?

keep getting told but forget, and because the search feature on this site is sooo 5hite... looking it up is impossible.

Looking it up is easy, go into Tutorials and FAQ and read the tutorial about oil changes in Engine Work, Tuning & Exhausts.

I will tell you now though that when you buy oil it comes in a 5.0 litre bottle, you will have enough there. It's about 4.0 litres you use.

ok ive been told 5litres 4litres 3.5litres

big differences there.... does anyone know for sure? my haynes manual doesnt say anything about how much you put in....

engine oil capacity for 1.2/1.4 8v, 1.4/1.6 16v is 3.5 litres

Oil comes in 5 litre bottles so it doesn't matter.
