How the hell can a 98/S 1.4 16v Corsa Sport work out £100 cheaper than my Astra (97/P Astra GLS 1.4 16v auto)?

Surely the Corsa would be more nickable than my humble little Astra?

1.6 Sport is about £150 more than my Astra as well...
