Got three years warranty with it (with three different providers ), which will probably get well used if bits are as bad as you say. I'm not realy known for pulling my punches with regard to the way I drive my cars, so i'll probably butcher a prop in no time. Good job i'm keeping the Merc for emergencies

Thanks for the heads up ShEp

Anything else in particular that f*cks up regularly on them that you're aware of mate?

Nah, no worries. They're cool. Ford unit, unburstable and nicely tunable

And Sean Hyland Motorsport in conjunction with Dreadnought Tuning in Perthshire do a nice little blower conversion that will have her making at least 400 brake and 420 lb ft. Not bad for a cheap little commuter

Just looked at power/torque plot - torque jumps from approx 80/90 lb at 1700 rpm to over 400 at 2500ish - gonna have to get me a contract with a tyre supplier

most aussie mags disliked the engine, but liked the chassis and interior. they complained that the engine was weak compared to the competition, and did not like to rev at all. yeah its a V8 lump and gets its grunt from low down, but its always a good combination to have low down grunt and high rev power, the V8 in the MG was given a lazy label.

Certainly is Jambo

Engine was developed by Roush industries and she's got a yank gearbox with special ratios and a Hydratrack LSD aswell and 2 extra shock absorbers mounted to the diff for torque damping - it's quite a bit of kit, especially for the money.

Already driven my Father's car and it's an animal (that's why i'm getting one) but nice and refined when you drive sensible - you can leave it in 3rd all bloody day
When you put it like that it sounds like a decent package...

It is lovely, took my Dad's car out again tonight to get a feel of the controls at night, give the brakes a clean (she's been sitting), and calibrate the Sat Nav (disc finally arrived) and christ she does lovely first gear power slides out of junctions. You can just hold the pedal flat and a dab of opposite lock and she holds it.
The moment i've run mine in, i'm going in search of the biggest bit of tarmac I can find to practice my drifting.

I suppose she is old technically/chronologically. But I knew her when she was three, and the last twelve years have flashed by so quick, she still doesn't seem like an old car to me. I think to be classed as old, a motor needs to be 20 years minimum and definitely have metal bumpers, carbs and a live axle

As far as i'm concerned, if it's FWD and got fuel injection, electric windows and plastic bumpers and door handles it's modern
