After wanting something a little faster than my old corsa (1.4 sri) i decided to buy a kitted out corsa GSi from some guy who lives about a 40 min drive from me, everything went to plan he drove up droped it off, then i had a look at it.

The front jap bumper is in a state chips scratches.
The whole body kit was wobbling more than my birds E cup tits.
The boot was bare no carpet or pacel shelf
He asked for 2.5k so i knocked him down to 2k as most of the rest was tidy especially the engine. He was reluctant to sell for the price i offered but excepted it any way.

A few hours later after i had taken the whole kit off and put it on correctly (it was a complete bodge job b4 hand) i tried to start my car. It was stuck with the ignition on but the engine not running. i took the keys out but the ignition stayed on, i tried to start it about 3 times with no result. So i ring the guy up and he seems completely surprised (it was working fine when he had drove up to drop it off, and when i had drove it to my garage..)

Eventullay i got a few mates to bump start the car for me and drove it to my house with the keys sat on the passanger side seat. Once i had taken the ignition apart i found that the piece of metal that the key turned had snaped off.. i now need to start my car with a screwdriver. Then to make matters worse after a few miles (to work and back) the breaks started grinding and the car started rattleing badly. So i phone this guy up and he tells me the exhaust is what was rattleing against the rear bumper (which is a lie) and that he would pay for a new ignition barrel and breaks. So i thought ok ill order the bits. The rattling was coming from the front of the car because the exhaust manifold was lose and the induction kit was hanging off... it was a universal fit and crap. This guy is no longer answering my calls or emails to pay me for the brakes and ignition, He also hasnt sent away the forms to state the car is sold so i cannot tax it, its still in his name and the tax has run out, i cant declare it as sorn even (off road) so there may be a bill heading his way, what should i do?

ill get u picks of the car, yes i did look at it the induction seemed fine it seems i have got unlucky with all this happening as i brought it (it drove fine when i tested it) and it isnt really my problem as the car is still in his name... i cant tax it so he will get a bill for not declaring it off road >< he seemed like a nice guy when we spoke, so i am trying and will continue to try to get in contact with him. I have obviously replaced the induction ket which stopped most of the rattleing, but this project has become more troble than its worth..

1- when you paid for the car you should have asked for the green part of the log book that the new owner takes so they can tax it if necessary.

2- Car is sold as seen, there is no warranty so you cant just call him up expecting to pay for stuff even though he did offer, he probably thought about it and realised it has nothing to do with him anymore and you acceptted the car as is.

3- if he is stupid enough to not send off the V5 to the DVLA then its his fault if he gets a fine.
