Up to you really

I only went to the effort really because mine were rusty, else probs wouldn't have bothered. Just make sure you use something decent like heat-resistant Hammerite, not crap spray on stuff.

but as for drums keep them black

there is small bits of rust on mine thats why i want to do them. coz i will have to paint them or they will look shit so i am going for it

If you use Hammerite, you can paint straight over the rust. I used a wire brush on mine anyway (2nd pic) so that the finished result looked smoother. You really do need to leave it to dry overnight though, as I found out (the hard way).

Another option if you dont want them painting is to have them chromed:




Thy are really easy to keep clean as well, just wipe with a damp cloth.
