Hi there everyone. Hope everyone all ok and motors running sweet.

I'm planning on making my car into a bit of a racer. Mainly drag but may do a few track days. Gunna make the bodywork more subtle but show quality but cant decide on engines.

I'm still gonna use the car for road use and driving around so need reliability.
Which engine would be best C20XE or C20let.
If i had 20XE i would fit tb's and which ever engine i decide i'll fit a LSD
I no where i can get a C20LET which is chipped and camed for a reasonable price but C20XE's are cheap

Any help would be great.

What sort of times are 1.6's on tb's running on the strip. I no that 1.6 on tb's would be more nimble than a 2.0.
Also on price situation what would be best for money.
I'm not a tight arse but wouldn't be able to pay shit loads all in one go.
I've got soo many thoughts but not sure what to do
I no of a LET that i could get for bot 600 camed and chipped. then there's the fitting kit 560 ish LET = 1300 with hoses etc (est)
2.0XE's are easy to find and reasonablely priced 20XE and fitting kit with hoses = 900 (est)
1.6 engine £200, hoses and mounts the same then tb kit from SBD 165kit £1500
What other views can you think of

I would go for the 1.6 or 2.0 16v on TB's. There is more to life than making your car go fast down a straight piece of road.

I must admit i love throwing my car into bends and accellerating out of them. I've seen a few comments on here that has moved me away from the turbo lump.
I'm gunna av to do a bit of shopping and find out prices.
I also want the engine bay to look sweet and as i like nice tidy engine bays. Which look best in other people's views.
I'm currently runnig 17 with no p.a.s which i'll leave them for show and get a set of 16's for racing around

Just keep the 17's... 16's are the same size with tyres fitted.
